Here on the Plateau of Tennessee It's a Eyore Day... 20 degrees.. grey and gloomy.. freezing rain / sleet / Ice pellets / snow.. the country roads are a glare of ice.. the trees again covered in ice and drooping and sagging under the weight.
Ice pellets looks like a very course sea salt.. 1/2 inch deep on the yard..

Confused yet??? So am I!

Only wind and rain expected tomorrow though, hoping that holds true!

Hope this finds everyone fared A-OK through this last winter hurrah yesterday!

Here it was the storm that wasn't, i.e., our forecast started out saying we'd start getting the gusting wind and rainstorms as the front went through around 10pm Wed night, then it changed to 3am Thursday, then a freezing rain/sleet advisory was issued for us, then all of it was to come at 7am, then 10am, then by 3pm... never a drop of anything fell, think because we stayed above freezing in the upper 30's all day! However, we definitely dropped later in the afternoon, to the 20's for the night and tomorrow night... but expected back into the 60's this weekend!

Other areas I've seen reported... Dallas officially rec'd 3.5 inches of snow, with 7 inches recorded in nearby Grapevine so nice coverage there, but wow, the pictures shown coming out of Memphis looked like a blizzard w/so much snow falling all at once, but the worst I saw was the 100-200 autos/transport trucks that got stranded on I65 and three other interstates in huge snowstorm in Kentucky overnight Wed nite... they were still waiting for somebody to come rescue them mid-day today! Sure hope all were rescued and they're well on their traveling way tonight!

Ah, so you bailed the bad weather in TN for the nicer stuff on the South AL beaches, eh, Linda? While it still dropped into the 50's/30s on the coast, not bad at all and it'll be warming up soon there, too!

But, crib??? Never, ever, heard that used to describe a place to stay in AL!

Again, hope all are experiencing much better weather today!

......The weather Gods have been good to this area this winter season......................

Location: Far western Montana...in a 3650 foot elevation valley just 10 miles from Idaho.

2 P.M/ today Friday.......61 F & sunny.........gradual increase every day up to 66F for next Wed and Thur.
No snow on the ground......Bright sun light forecast for same period.
Heaviest snow fall (so far this winter) approx 4 to 5 inches....maybe 10 times.
.......Now the 'high country" in both mountain ranges on each side of the valley have 66 inches to 95 inches dependent on the specific location and elevation, which is about 'normal' snow pack for March 1st.

Bitterroot River flowing about normal for this date, and no ice jams.

Sorry gotta go.....have to put on a little more "Sunscreen Lotion"
