Good morning everyone
Happy Thursday
Wow I can't believe today is the last day of camp
It has been so much fun

Today is "all about plants day"
We will be doing leaf rubbing pictures
I am bringing a bunch of Christmas cactus cutting for them to plant and take home. They will also be planting peanuts
We will be showing them "plant parts we eat" and will have veggies as examples and also as snacks (oh joy lol )

Ok so after all the "ribbing" about pictures I took my camera to camp yesterday however when I got there I realized the batteries were dead so I am going to try again today

But before I can do that I have to ask

Today's Question(s):
This came up in conversation yesterday so I thought it would be fun to find out

Has anyone in our "Question family" never seen in person

The ocean
Snow
A big mountain range

Bonus Question:
Those of us that live or have lived up north has experienced the "zucchini drop" folks with excess will just leave them outside your door ,they will be left in your open vehicle. Stop by to visit and you will be offed some on leaving. So made me curious

Do you have a season of excess of a particular fruit or veggie where everyone you see offers you some ?

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever said "Hey this would make a great "Question 0' the Day" ?

****lol just yes or no !!! ****

Because if you have really good ideas DM them to me !! please

Just for Fun:

Ok it is 6 months till Christmas, has any here started their shopping already ?

Word of the Day:

sough \SAU; SUHF\ , intransitive verb:
1. To make a soft, low sighing or rustling sound, as the wind.
noun:
1. A soft, low rustling or sighing sound.

And today, after taxes, that's still about right. Forty cents!

yes and I love them all. I would love snow a lot more if I could just go home to Colorado and "visit" it there,
rather than shoveling it here....but, in perspective, it's all good.

Do you have a season of excess of a particular fruit or veggie where everyone you see offers you some ?
the zukes, the cukes, & the 'maters!
we have a regional food bank that sets up a temporary donation site for fresh produce. pretty uplifting to see it in action.

Of course!! ....so noted...

Ok it is 6 months till Christmas, has any here started their shopping already ?
what kind of cruel games are you playing? I have perfected the art of waiting until there is nothing left worth picking over.
I am also quite adept at keeping the U.S. Postal Service in business with my overnight shipping fees.
Now is not the time to suggest I might be able to change my ways!

ETANITSARCORP - means I still have 5 months and 3 weeks, thank you very much!

The ocean
I've seen both the Atlantic and the Pacific.
Snow <snort> Um, I live in Wisconsin.... This is what our house looked like six months ago:

A big mountain range I've seen the Alps several times, although it was a long time ago.

Bonus Question:
Those of us that live or have lived up north has experienced the "zucchini drop" folks with excess will just leave them outside your door ,they will be left in your open vehicle. Stop by to visit and you will be offed some on leaving. So made me curious

It depends on the year and how the weather is during the growing season. Some years we have so many tomatoes that we have to beg people to take them off our hands, and they don't want any more because they have so many of their own. Our neighbors don't generally grow zucchini, fortunately - I like the stuff, but in moderation.

Extra Credit Question:

Have you ever said "Hey this would make a great "Question 0' the Day" ?

****lol just yes or no !!! ****

I've come up with one or two notions, though I don't know that I'd describe them as "really good ideas."

Just for Fun:

Ok it is 6 months till Christmas, has any here started their shopping already ?

Back when our kids were younger, I would have answered yes to this one, because I used to shop year-round for Christmas to reduce the sudden impact on the budget. Nowadays, though, we take a much more minimalist approach to Christmas gifts, so I don't get quite so obsessive about starting early.

Today's Question(s):

Has anyone in our "Question family" never seen in person

The ocean Yes
Snow Not like you guys have seen it, I've only seen it thick on the ground once when I was about 7 when we were driving through the Blue Mountains to go to Sydney. It has only snowed twice in my town in my life, the first time it was on the ground briefly and the second time it didn't stay on the ground at all. I hear of it snowing in the highlands around here, but I never have been in it.
A big mountain range Australia has a mountain range that goes right down the eastern coast called the Great Dividing Range, I have crossed this range countless times. Our highest peak is Mount Kosiuoszko which is in the Snowy Mountains and is 2,228 meters above sea level and I haven't been there.

You name it, depends on the season but there is not much that doesn't grow here.

Just for Fun:

I haven't even thought about it, I feel like it was only just Christmas! We have an interesting tradition here in Australia called "Christmas in July" where people have a traditional winter Christmas in our winter, we don't usually do presents though. There are some places in the mountains where it snows that hold Christmas in July weekends every year.
