RANDOLPH, Texas, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- New Hampshire authorities told a mountain hiker Saturday an injured thumb didn't qualify him for a helicopter rescue.
The 50-year old Texan injured his thumb while hiking with a group on the 3,251-foot Mount Crescent in the Icy Gulch area.
Sometimes it just baffles me how some people make it through life. A helicopter rescue request for a thumb? It better be tore off up to the elbow for that stupid of a call to be made.
Sure, we'll come get you...just as soon as you give us your credit card number and agree to pay a $5000 fee for being so dumb and whiny. Seriously? A sprained/broken digit is rescue-worthy? *shakes head*
You know the employer on the other side of that phone had to follow work protocol so he was forbidden to say his real answer. His real answer to thumb man was really to stick thumb where his brain resided, down there between two bu.tt cheeks, and mull over what the he.ll he's doing
Yup pretty stupid since such a high number of Helicopter rescues wind up more tragic than the original reason for responding!!! I say leave the stupid to there own resources. IE Mountain climbers , Bikers, and off road idiots!!
Good grief, how ridiculous can you be??!! "I hurt my thumb..waahhhhhhhhh!" I'm glad they didn't go after this guy, that would've been a huge waste of resources. And besides, how selfish is that? If they had gone to pick up this guy a real emergency could've arisen and they might not have been able to respond because they'd be tending to this bonehead!
Well, no free lift up to the chopper for a free ride for this guy. Pretty sorry. Hopefully, he's learned his lesson.
