Iv seen a couple of incidents lately with dumb looking guys smoking a cig while pumping their gas. Would you say something, I mean looking out for your saftey and that of others, or do you remain passive. I dont think there is a law being broken, but Jesus thats nuts dont ya think?
I would say something, you could blow up. Apparently you can also blow up from talking on the cell phone while pumping gas, learned that about 2 years ago, everyone was like -duh- I was just wondering where the heck was I when this announcement was made?
Yes,,, I would say something! A few years ago I stopped at a station and was filling my tank. I noticed another customer who started doing the same thing however he was smoking. I politely told him “you shouldn’t smoke while pumping!” and he replied “gas won’t burn even if you drop a match in a gallon of it”. I yelled back “you’re right! ~ howevergas fumes will explode, put that cigarette OUT!”…….. He looked a little pissed and flipped the cigarette over to the curb. What a dumb ass. There seems to be one in every group of people.
Cell phones,,,,, I’m hearing both sides and for now I’ll go with don’t use your phone and lean towards the side of being safer. I don’t need the distraction of talking on the cell while pumping if for no other reason. The other thing that is most important is “static” from getting in and out of the car or truck. Static is the problem while reaching back into the car to get your phone, purse or whatever.

In CA it is clearly posted at the pumps in huge red letters:
NO SMOKING
But that doesn't stop some people from doing it anyway. No, I don't say anything. I guess I should, but I just don't. Don't want to start a fight with an idiot.
