PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- A former Amtrak police officer claims in his Pennsylvania lawsuit the passenger rail corporation is liable for a woman taking his gun and shooting his foot.
The Philadelphia Common Pleas Court lawsuit filed by James Bullard said a 30-year-old woman he was attempting to remove from a 30th Street Station McDonald's for being disruptive March 9, 2008, grabbed his gun from its holster and shot him in the left foot, the Philadelphia Daily News reported Thursday.
Why did he go toe to toe with a gal of this caliber?
Was he acting like a heel?
She seems like an arch fiend but he's the one who got nailed. Now he's not such a fungi anymore, especially since he got himself in this jam. She really socked it to him but now this poor sole is odor and wiser.
I can't open the link but I wondered if Amtrak provided safety retention holsters to officers. There is no excuse if not. Every police officer should have one or shouldn't be carrying a firearm in the open. Would Amtrak be liable if he wasn't? Possible but who knows.
Sounds to me he was not qualified for the job to start with.
