I am asking because I've been working on a project since this time last year and it is really kicking my a$s to say the least. I am not getting anywhere with this.

I am at the point to where I am ready to walk away. How important is this project? It's not my life's calling. It was something I was working on to generate extra income but it seems all I've been doing is spending money to get it going.

I am exhausted to say the least. When do you say enough is enough.

It does not mean I am giving up, it means I am going to move on to new things. More fulfilling things.

What are your thoughts?

Take a break. Put it aside for a couple of weeks and see how it looks then.

Self-satisfaction in doing your job is always important and rewarding. I’d hate to spend “that” much time at something I no longer enjoy. It’s time to move on. However you have to think carefully about how you walk away from the project, you might be able to find someone who can take over the project with positive actions and benefit himself and you. Think it though carefully! Best of luck

That would have been my advise. I am in a similar situation with my business. It has become taxing to my mental well being. The only thing is my bottom line will suffer. I may hang in or I may say screw it and move on too.

It got to a point to where it was not fun anymore. It's bad enough that I go to a job that I do not like and not in my field of education and experience(Finance), I refuse to come home from a job and work on a project that I no longer enjoy.

I have too many other interests to keep me moving forward with a lot less stress.

It is a good thing u have other interest. I am not sure where I fit anymore. I don't even know if I have other interest to motivate me. I am seriously thinking of crawling under the table and not coming out. Yeah, I know that is impractical and I am way more mature than that. I hope anyway

I have a tendency to stick with a project too long, put too much value on the "sunk costs", when it would have been smarter to cut my losses and let it go.

It's the "dark side" of being persistent.

I guess it's worthwhile when a project is not going according to plan, to back off and look at the big picture, is it still going to take you where you want to go, for a price you want to pay?

When having to make these types of decisions....I always go with my first thought. Usually, that is the right one that works the best. The following thoughts become the confusion.
