Do you personally know anybody who has a Wikipedia article? (As opposed to "have met".)

I have a couple of relatives, whom I don't know. My ex-wife is the sister of Tanith Belbin's mother, which makes me Tanith's uncle. I haven't seen her since her first birthday.

My current wife is the daughter of writer Russell Trainer. He died shortly after I met her.

I knew Rex Reed quite well in college, we hung out together.

I knew Congressman Harold Rogers when he was in college, and we visited each other's homes.

I also worked and partied with Robert W. Morgan and we knew each other very well. And, at the same time, Pete Gross.

I've never thought of it before but I checked and I seem to know quite a few.

Former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert. One of his parents was in the long term care facility where my wife was Administrator. I've talked with him there several times. He is also an avid old car collector. I've have seen him at car shows and local charity events.

My race track jobs have had me in close long term contact with a host of drivers and owners. I won't list them all but if you've seen them on an NHRA drag racing show I most likely know them.

But I do know of a few on Ickipedia and Wickedpedia, completely unrelated sites I believe!

Yes, as a sports photographer, I know several professional athletes who have a wikipedia page. I'm not best friends with them or anything but several of them know me by name and always say hello during a photoshoot so I consider them acquaintances, if that's what you mean. That said, one of them in particular is friends with my husband and his brother, they go to football (soccer) games a lot (he's a rugby player).

My Wikipedia-listed acquaintances are mostly science fiction writers. There is a fair number of writers who attend the SF convention I help to plan and put on each year, and I've gotten to know a lot of them with varying degrees of closeness. That's probably about it, though. I don't tend to hang out with celebrities.

I knew Thelma Schoonmaker, the Oscar-winning movie editor, when I was a kid. She is younger than me but her older brother was in the class behind me.
