So I visited Downtown Ottawa for the very first time

I love Ottawa too.

Here are a few places not to miss - Parliament, Natl Art Gallery, Byward Market, Museum of Civilization, biking along the canal system.

There's a wonderful Tulip Festival in the spring and a pretty good Jazz Fest in the summer.

Downtown Ottawa is packed solid with dozens of 20-30 storey office and apartment/condo buildings, not exactly "skyscrapers" in comparison to the much taller buildings in downtown Toronto, but when you're standing on the street in downtown Ottawa the buildings certainly seem tall enough.
