So I'm volunteering at my daughters 6th grade field day today. It's going to be in the mid 80's and I want to wear a tank top. Nothing trashy a decent designer tank top that I bought at Kohls. I'm going to be in AZ next week and don't want to get the proverbial farmer's tan by wearing a t-shirt. I'm a guy by the way.

^^ I wouldn't see it as being a problem, you said it was designer and therefore properly covers, isn't huge or skin tight, etc.
Cudos for caring enough to ask....
I see that you're from California. I'm originally from Arizona and probably would not be asking this question if I was still there. But I moved to the St. Louis area about 8 months ago and I was denied service at a bar and grill for having a tank top on. So they seem to be more uptight about it here.

Well, it might depend on the bar. I nice bar in a upscale restaurant/hotel might not dig it but a beach walk up bar wouldn't care.

Um, no IMO. Unless the field trip is at a waterpark.
