It's better that your son put his hand down his pants than someone else's.
I had two husbands (not at the same time) and five sons. They all, at one time or another, practiced touching. A gentle reminder, not a scolding, will usually convince them that it's something better done alone.
They generally outgrow the practice of touching in public. From time to time, a child will continue the practice only to be scorned by his peers when he gets to school and that pretty much ends it.
Haha.....N-O-R-M-A-L. With a little bit of guidance, he'll eventually learn not to do it in front of others...or at least be careful of WHO he's doing it around and how obvious he is about doing it. Jeez, I've still got grown sons that'll reach down and reposition, without even thinking about it. I say, "That looks fun, maybe I should reach my hand down MY pants in front of you." Them, "Sorreeeee, it was kinda in a bind!" or, "I was scratching my leg, where my underwear were chafing." Never so much as a blush out of them, but the hand does come out of the pants. I've got a 4 yr old grandson who's been simply fascinated with his "junk" now, for about 2 yrs. Fortunately yes, he's learning that people NOTICE and call a bit of attention to it. He doesn't do it around others, either...only those he lives with.
My three year old walks around sucking his thumb and with his other hand down his pants... It looks so sad, he looks unloved and longing for comfort... He gets soo much love in my house, plenty of kisses and cuddles daily.. he still sleeps under my wing where he holds my boob instead of his penis... when he's got the thumb in the mouth and the hand down the trousers it makes me worry about his well being, it's such a sorry sight.. should I get him checked out by the doctor?

You allow your child to sleep with you hanging on to your boob and you think his thumb sucking and hands in his pants is the problem?
There's nothing wrong with co sleeping.. I've friends who are still breastfeeding and their children are 3 years... get to the point! You're not being helpful, you're just being bitchy
