My friend's daughter made friends with a wealthy teen who moved to Pennsylvania from southern California recently. When my friend was telling me all about her, she mentioned in passing that her face was emotionless except for her smile. I told her she probably had Botox. My friend was shocked. It never occurred to her. I met the girl this past weekend, and sure enough, her face does NOT move. Her eyelids open and close and she smiles. That's it.

She's a beautiful girl. Great skin. All that. I can't imagine why her parents allowed her to get Botox. If you do a google search, it's becoming a trend for teens. They're going to look great at 60 but at what cost?

How could any parent allow/pay for their children to have Botox? Would you?

Do you know for a fact that she had Botox?

I know teen Botox use is a trend that kind of peaked 2 years ago, but it seems like something that, if the mom already does it, she's more likely to be on board with allowing her daughter to do it.

Of course, it's a terrible idea for both.

It's messed up. And someone should call services on the mom. Just like the dumb mom addicted to tanning and had her children tanning.

This has been going for 3 or 4 years. The irony is that sun damage will age the skin more than they will prevent with the botox, and yet many young women are not very proactive about sunscreen use.

If it makes them feel good about themselves that's fine.

People probably wrote the same thing on [the equivalent of] City-Data forum in the 1930s when rich kids got braces.

Braces don't have the same risks as Botox. Are you even aware of what Botox is?
