I’d just challenge your thinking slightly where you note that “the single most important thing is having a healthy baby”.
Trust me, it’s not. Having a living baby is critical, health can be worked with. I used to say the same thing until I had a baby who wasn’t healthy, and then I realized what an arbitrary marker that was, as though he is worth less or less valuable because he has disabilities. I know that isn’t what you meant, but that sort of mental context can make adjusting to health surprises with baby a lot harder.
Wanting a girl? No big deal. Its okay to have preferences, so long as you won’t be disappointed if the sex, let alone the health, doesn’t turn out as you hope.
