Aquaphor is what we use when my daughter had some bad diaper rashes. Also, whenever she had a diaper rash the wipes would be painful for her so I would always clean her up with a cold cloth.
I never, ever had any luck with Desitin, it always seemed to make things worse. The BEST thing we have found is Boudreaux's Butt Paste!! Takes just a tiny amount and you will see results overnight.
thats what I use too. For my kids (and all are different) it seems to work the best
I printed myself a list and went shopping yesterday. 15 minutes into the drive I couldn't find the list
We went to Target, the butt paste stuck out in my mind so I bought that. After the mall, I got in the car to see the list under my seat. Oh well.
We dropped it off, had my daughter get out and knock so I didn't talk to the mom. I'll check up on him later to see how he's doing and if she took him to the Dr.
Here's my list if someone else needs to shop, just copy & paste into notepad:
1) corn starch
2) Ammens Medicated Powder
3) Boudreaux butt paste - good for any rash
4) Burt's Bees diaper ointment
5) Triple Paste medicated ointment
6) Balmex
7) Desitin (purple box)
8) virgin olive oil and virgin coconut oil.
9) Calmoseptine - ask the pharmacist for it.
10) Eucerine
11) Aquaphor
This was never mentioned but we used Dr. Smith's. It is behind the pharmacy counter, you need to ask for it but no rx is needed. In case you need another kind later.
Whatever keeps the moisture off the skin. Pink Salve, Desitin, or anything that won't easily rinse off. As others said, if you're keeping the skin super dry all the time and there's still a rash it's probably something in the diet.
I have used A and D ointment and Vasoline and not had too much diaper rash problem. I like it better than zinc oxide because it doesn't seem so messy and therefore we used it every single time we change diapers.
For rashes I usually used A&D Ointment... I don't think that's a new remedy, though, because my MIL recommended it.
A one year old doesn't need to be drinking juice, though, so the easiest thing would probably be to cut it and other acidic foods out, once the rash is under control.
