A 4-year-old boy died Saturday after being left in a parked sport utility vehicle while his mother visited a nail salon on what was to be her wedding day.

Investigators could not determine whether the mother, 29, knew the child was in the Ford Expedition in suburban West Palm Beach while temperatures outside neared 90 degrees, sheriff's spokesman Pete Palenzuela said. The boy may have been in the vehicle more than two hours.

Every summer there is the same story.

Pathetic.

Feel so sorry for that boy. Hope the mom enjoys the rest of her life being stupid.

This country needs to require parents to take an aptitude test prior to childbirth.

Article quotes:"She's very nice."

My quote: She's very stupid. A child's life for a manicure!

May she live a long life in guilt that she lost the life of her child, and may that poor child live happily ever after in heaven.

It is very sad and it happens more frequently than many of us realize.

Education and awareness.... repeat.

This is a tragic event and while my heart is sadden by this loss I would not be so quick to judge the mother. I can imagine it is possible she was so distracted by the last minute details before the big event that she truly may not have realized the boy was in the vehicle. The article said she had dropped off her other children somewhere before going to the salon. He was old enough to know how to open the door and get out so perhaps he was alseep in the SUV and died in his sleep. My prayers are with the family.

I don't know how you can't see 4 year old in the vehicle?? Did he get in and was hiding?? What kind of SUV is it? A long long boat that you don't see the end of it??

It's sad and tragic.
