Is anyone making green eggs & ham for their kids to celebrate Dr. Suess' birthday?

We did that once. It was a riot, but just for fun, not any celebration.

I made it this morning & the kids thought it was so funny. They ate while I read the story. I had a great time. We took pictures & I will do a green eggs & ham scrapbook page.
My kids couldn't wait to go to school to tell their teacher & friends.

When I use to teach preschool, I did a fun craft w/ my children. For those who could use scissors, I had traced out an egg on green construction paper and the yolk on yellow paper. I also have a ham traced out on pink construction paper. I had some pre cut for my younger ones still working on those fine motor skills. Once the egg and ham was cut out, I gave them white paper plates to glue them on. They loved this simple craft. I also read them the story.

Along with our green eggs, we had red pancakes and blue milk.

The Kinders are doing it at school on Monday. A note came home yesterday asking for eggs, ham, and green food coloring and green koolaid. Whatever they still need, I told the teacher to pen me a note and I would pick some up for Monday.

Its always interesting when our Kinder teachers get together and start cooking. We did Stone soup earlier this year and, let me tell you, its kind of comical to see three teachers, two teacher aides, a multitude of parents, and 50 kindergarteners come together to cook a meal.

What a great idea! I will definitely do it next year, maybe just another random day for fun! This week was Stone Soup for my son in K, and he just loved it...parents weren't invited to help, though.

I will do this in my K class on Monday. I have a big glass bowl so all can see and I have all the kids crack an egg. We mix it together and add the food coloring and I add the ham as we cook up the eggs.
Another favorite I like to do in my class is If you Give a Pig a Pancake and we make pancakes in class for all. Yum..
