Daryl Metcalfe represents the majority in the state that wishes Southeastern PA & Harrisburg would secede to NJ/NY or Maryland.

That would be the worst thing the state could ever do.

Not really. We don't need Philly or Harrisburg. We are in control of the Marcellus and mining money. Rural politicians need to wake up and tell Harrisburg to shove it.

But where would the majority of your tax revenue come from? It surely wouldn't come from Marcellus or mining money.

Rural Pennsylvania needs Philadelphia and Harrisburg more than Philadelphia or Harrisburg need rural Pennsylvania. And if either of those cities were ever magically "kicked out" of the Commonwealth, it wouldn't be long before all the backward-ass rural politicians turned against Pittsburgh, especially since it has its own public transit and a critical mass of racial minorities.

Allegheny County doesn't even like the city of Pittsburgh. The numerous municipalities refuse to merge.

You should keep up with the numbers of Marcellus and Utica wells.

Think of the savings if we dumped the major cities. The billions of wasted dollars we would save from keeping the big cities running.

We could get rid of the teachers union and shut down the schools. Cyber school everyone and save a bundle. Heck, kids do most of their homework on their laptops and ipads now. Schools are only a day care as it is. No cost for buildings, transportation, cafeterias, and sports. That would make property taxes almost nonexistent.

Afterwards, dump property taxes and switch to a higher sales tax.

Dump the liquor stores and beer distributors. Second biggest racket out there. (First are the casinos.)

Stop rewarding large corporations and start taking care of small local business owners. The red tape and hoops that small business owners have to go through in this state is a joke. The taxes, fees, and regulations prevent many from being successful.

I would say that is a good start.
