How do we go about proposing to create a Susquehanna Valley Sub thread, that combines.

Harrisburg, Lancaster and York into one Sub Forum?

The Harrisburg forum sees very little activity overall, and all three metros are within 45 minutes of one another and it would be much better for activity.

Combined the Susquehanna Valley is about 1.2 Million people, and it serves this forum much better than just Harrisburg.

It's not going to happen. Erie, Northwestern, doesn't have anything.

It’s not a bad idea, and it’s tossed around by frequent PA subforum posters periodically, but the powers that be just don’t see fit to make it happen.

The Harrisburg subforum has become a de facto space to discuss York, Lancaster, and other parts of South Central PA anyway.

I think this is a good idea, though I would name it South Central PA since the term Susquehanna Valley might be confusing for outsiders and be more encompassing of the Gettysburg/Franklin County area which is a hot relocation spot.

I believe as long as you notate the three main cities in the sub print; Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, most would know what part of the state the forum is for.

Do we know how we propose this? I think it is a great idea, for the Pennsylvania Thread.

Great idea but good luck. The administration doesn't seem to have any interest in creating more state sub forums.

Yes, I seem to recall the idea having been mentioned in a thread within the past year or two, although I’m not finding the thread in a quick search.

At the time, I mentioned (as others have here) that “Susquehanna Valley” probably isn’t a good name for a number of reasons—not the least of which is that the term is often applied to a number of other areas, including Selinsgrove/Sunbury, Williamsport, and Bloomsburg/Berwick.

In that previous thread, I seem to recall someone mentioning that the forum administrators were generally against the idea of having broad regional sub-forums. Why not? I don’t know. I believe the “Northeastern Pennsylvania” forum was called out specifically as the type of regional board that was allowed to creep in years ago but wouldn’t be repeated now.

Maybe they could just rename the Harrisburg forum "Harrisburg, Lancaster and York". It wouldn't be adding another forum, it wouldn't be calling itself some generalized regional board. It would be three smallish interlinked cities.

Your a mod. Do you know how to initiate this?

Even as another poster commented.

Changing the name from Harrisburg to Harrisburg, Lancaster, York would even work.

The PA forum, already has The Lehigh Valley. So I do not see how the Susquehanna Valley would be a big change?
