I grew up in Erie actually mostly in Summit Township. I agree real estate isn't to bad.

I think the westside is better than the eastside. But I can't say for sure. I have not lived there for many years. I visited about three years ago. I do miss it sometimes. The winters can be brutal but if you stock up on food you should be fine. The summers can be humid but the peninsula is quite beautiful. That is what I miss most.

There is no downtown supermarket yet, but there is a grocery store in North Park Row and here is the website. There is the Erie Food Co-Op Grocery Store and Gordon's Meat Market is a full butcher within the store as well. It is together called the Flagship City Public Market and the links are below.
