Group of Pa. Republicans bucking party to endorse Democrat Josh Shapiro for governor

Quote:
In what analysts are calling an unprecedented move in an era of extreme hyperpartisanship, a group of Republican leaders — including a number of former officials who have been stalwarts of Pennsylvania’s GOP establishment for decades in Harrisburg and D.C. — is bucking their party to endorse Democrat Josh Shapiro for governor.
I voted for McCormick, can't believe he lost to Mastriano.

How is Charlie Dent "bucking the party" when he himself endorsed Joe Biden in 2020? Why not just switch parties already?

I'll be the other "stalwarts of GOP establishment" are also RINO's when you take a closer look.

Thanks for posting. I'm moving on.

Thank God common sense still exists in the Republican Party.

Keep Christo-fascists out of the Governor's mansion!

Won’t matter. The lowlifes in Philly will steal it for Shapiro.

I don't think he did because he lost to Oz.

Yep, my mistake. Same point however.

Never mind the fact that D’s outnumber R’s in this state by 600,000 or so. Anything to justify things not going your way.

Headline making but really, much ado about nothing. I highly, highly doubt Robert Jubelirer has any pull. Most of those names though, they are 'former, Bucks, former Montgomery etc" that has been the trend, nothing really new. Shaprio might get 2006 Rendell level of support in the burbs anyway.

I am surprised that according to recent polling that Fetterman, who is left of Shapiro, has a wider lead over Oz, who is left of Mastriano, than Shapiro has over Mastriano.

So people in this state are simultaneously supporting a far-left U.S. senator and a far-right governor? Why not support the moderate Democrat for governor and the center-right candidate for U.S. Senate?

Has PA really become this polarized?
