I am a book seller who found Stanley T Collins 1946 diary; it is very interesting and I'm trying to find his descendants to return the diary to. By using the diary I have found his military records--US Army 1942 - 1946, found that his parents once lived in Los Angeles, and that Stanley died in 1996 in Camarillo. I have requested a copy of his death certificate in the hopes I can glean more info on his family. I have read up to April in his diary so far and it seems like he was the nicest guy in the world. I really want to surprise a grandson or granddaughter with this gift of their past, and I want to know more about him. Thanks in advance. You can reach me at wordbank1@gmail.com.
I found information about him on PeopleFinders: Search Results - PeopleFinders.com There is a number for Blanche Collins (looks like his wife), but it's from 2007. I'll send you a DM with more info.
Stanley Jr's addresses were the same as his parents. Last address listed was:
1223 Rowland Ave
Camarillo, CA 93010-3247
Now showing Eustorgio and Irma L Delgadillo living there. No listed phone.
County Recorder shows the Grant Deed from the Blanche T Collins Trust to the Delgadillos in 2000. You could write and ask them if they have contact info for the son or Blanche's attorney in their purchase paperwork. Or the Realtor who handled the sale. Someone will have a forwarding address for the completed paperwork.
I've been searching for new info and found I made an error, above. Stanley's (the son) birth record lists his mother's maiden name as Bolton and I attributed that to Blanche. But today I found marriage and divorce records for Gladys Bolton and Stanley T. Collins. So I believe Blanche was the second wife and Gladys is the younger Stanley's mother. I'll search for her and see if that produces anything helpful.
Stanley (the father) was born in Canada, mother's maiden name is Boyle, and he was not yet a citizen of the US when he joined the army in '42, according to his enlistment record. Immigration/naturalization record shows Sept 1938 - don't know if that's the date he applied or the date it was final.
