Do you know your step siblings Mark and Roxanne?

Look for them if you don't already know them.

The application for the death certificate is asking for his mother and fathers full name as well as his mothers maiden name. Is therea way for me to find this information?

I took a quick look at the 1940 census at www.familysearch.org There's a William MACOMBER living in Maine in 1940.
head of household, William MACOMBER age 34, born Florida
wife, Phyllis, age 26, born Maine
son, William, age 7, born Maine
son, Norman, age 5, born Maine

William is the right age since he would have turned eight after the census in that year.

As you found out most request for death certificates ask who you are in relation to the deceased, and other questions that some people, such as adoptees or step kids don't have for the application.

I think the coroner's office has to be present at a death that does not occur in a hospital such as in the home, an accident, maybe in a nursing home. Give the Clark County Coroner's office a call and they can likely, at least confirm, if the name and date and location of death that you have is accurate.

So yes, the man we found was my father. I contacted the funeral home and due to privacy rights they will not give me any information about next of kin or anything else for that matter. I'm now on the search for my brother and sister Mark and Roxanne. No luck thus far. Their mom possibly was named Connie. My mom didn't know much else except that they are probably close to their 60s. Thank you for all of the information! You folks really are amazing!

If the funeral home and/or cemetery will not release any names to you, than try asking the funeral home if they will forward a letter on your behalf.

If so, write a letter explaining who you are, and why you want to contact someone who knew him. Place your letter in an envelope with postage already on it, so all the funeral home has to do is write the name / address on the envelope & mail it.

That way the funeral home doesn't have to release any information, and the people that receive your letter can choose whether to contact you or not.
