Let me start off with the short version.I had an address that my son and i would visit grandma atleast once a year,we all talked every weekend.So i have last address and phone number.Then there was no answer.Once someone answered and said she went into a nursing home.They were the new people in her old assisted living apt.Not helpful,never answered phone again and phone disconnected.
I know she was supposed to go to a home.How do you find a person in a nursing home??? Any help will be appreciated.I have spent 20 hours in my stumbling,not computer smart ways.She has no listed phone i can find.Must be through calling nursing home to get through.I have called 20 homes and they won't give out patient info???

There must be someway to find a lost relative in a nursing home.How is this done?Please help if you can.Please?

1. I "Goggled" National Association of Nursing Homes - call and see if they can help.....
2. Also "Locate Relative in Nursing Homes" had some interesting information.......
3. Consider calling an Elder Care Lawyer who will work probono.........
4. Call the local police department. There is no guarantee the people who said "she was in a nursing home" knew what they were talking about.
5.If she was in "assisted living" whoever she paid rent to would know where she went ???
6. If you saw her once a year who was seeing her the rest of the time....friends ?? family members ?? Did she get meals delivered ??

Thankyou psalms139. I live 450 miles away so it is making things difficult.I called the local PD and the officer was able to give me the name of where she last resided.Then we were able to come up with a phone number.We will both call tomorrow and he will drive there if necessary to get the info needed.While calling nursing homes they won't say if someone is there or not.How giving info to a son inlaw or grandson is dangerous? Well what if i decided she needed to move to a different facility?

So the officer is on the case with me.I am feeling hopeful that tomorrow will bring good news.

Done yesterday.Called the local PD and they called me back within 3 hours with an address and a phone number in her room. Son and i talked with grandma.Going to send her a package,talk often and visit asap.
