Also, can cops run red lights?

LOL... yeah, try that out and see how it goes.

There's a law in every state about resisting detainment by a police officer, and the consequences for you range from misdemeanor to possible felony. And that may make you the lucky winner of jail time, probation, and/or a big fine.

How does it not answer the question?

To paraphrase what has transpired here in just the last few posts:

You: am I "safe" if I evade a cope who is after me by hiding in a garage?

Me: Sure, if by "safe" you mean "arrested and charged with a misdemeanor or felony."

You can't legally evade detention or arrest by a police officer who is after you by hiding in your home...don't be silly.

Yes it is worth it to fight a speeding ticket. Geico is known to severely penalize its policy holders for traffic violations.

I haven't read all of the posts, but yes, I once went to court for a speeding ticket (maybe I had to, like work zone, something) and the courtroom was packed and we were all in the hallway negotiating pleas and trust me, they just wanted all of this to go away. I was able to do traffic school (online) and pay court costs. But this was better than the $350 for speeding in a work zone - and of course mine was a total speed trap, a hill where everyone's speed increases temporarily as they go downhill and they just sit there all day catching people.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

NO, you can't hide from them in your garage. You already did whatever deed for which they started the pursuit, so all you will do if you HIDE in your garage is garner more charges.

And yes, cops can run red lights if they are in pursuit, which does not have to be high speed, BTW.

Just obey the d*mn traffic laws and you won't have to worry about this kind of stuff.

Instead of fighting traffic tickets and switching insurance companies, how about slowing down?

Especially when going past overpasses and over hills / around bends where the cops will be hiding on the other side.

Then for "everybody else speeding" in California... Two bumper stickers on your car.

<-- Passing Lane

Going speed limit due to insurance costs
