We sold our Saturn -- man, I hated that car. Ghastly color that no one ever saw. Got hit twice and both times I was told that. We never saw you. And it was so low to the ground, every time I got out of it, it felt like I was crawling out of a hole.
Anyhow -- we don't usually just up and sell a car, but I fell in love with a Toyota Matrix. Sporty hatchback. Very practical car for us and our business... and I've never regretted it. Love that car. It's 11 years old -- I'll keep it for another 10. I might get it totally detailed this year -- I can't figure out how to clean upholstery myself....
I have a practical and affordable car I drive to work. Then I have a fun car holding the garage floor down. I enjoy driving it and cleaning it. I never see my neighbors so I doubt they are impressed.
We drive our cars into the ground. I have a newer car, 2014, but we passed down my old car to my daughter. It has 250,000 miles on it. My husband's has 230,000. He'll get a new one when he retires at the end of the year. I would never drive anything but a Honda, no matter what else we can afford. A car is a tool, and a money suck, nothing more.

Same, except my neighbor's kids like my weekend car
My cars do the job they were purchased to do and they run well. Why on earth would I need to buy a brand new vehicle to replace a car that is working perfectly fine?

Yup ! I have a 2005 Honda Accord, loaded, EX-L, that just turned 101,000 miles. Mint condition, neighbors are lusting over buying it from me. No way. Regular maintenance, just put new Michelins on all 4, and it gets detailed every spring. Totally agree reebo -- not going to throw money down that rabbit hole. Not interested in impressing anyone.
