I got one and I haven't left the country in 30 years. I used my credit card once on an international order of about $40, so it's hard to see how they could owe me more than a few cents.
On the other hand, they owe other people (who are not going to bother itemizing) a lot more, so it evens out. Yeah, perhaps two wrongs don't make one good, but I personally have no sympathy or empathy for the entities in question. They're left loose to charge all kinds of ridiculous fees and interest rates. They've messed up numerous people's credit reports. It's not too bad if they get some of their own medicine once in a blue moon. Of course, in the end they'll take their "losses" out of us AGAIN.

Have you experienced that or are you just pushing the line that CC companies are bad? They agreed to the settlement as a cheaper alternative to litigation but never admitted guilt.
I traveled internationally for business as well as pleasure for over fifteen years and found the use of CCs to be a good deal... cheaper and more convenient that any alternative dealing with multiple currencies.

Just was saying I'm not too worried about their potential "loss" considering what their general rates, fees, etc. are (nothing personal; I don't carry balances and don't miss deadlines) and how they can wreak havoc in people's lives by reporting inaccurate information (now this IS personal).
I spent a year in another country at that time. I remember the credit card conversion fees were ridiculous. I guess they are paying for it now. Maybe I'll recover a little month on this.
I got mine. If you traveled more than a week during those dates it might benefit you to do the option 2 and it doesn't really take any more time. They aren't asking to see receipts.
It also said that it could be years before any final settlement is determined.....
