Several years ago, I lived near a strip mall that had a wealth management firm and a payday lender adjacent to each other.
In addition to thinking it was a perfect example of Two Americas - I would have taken pictures if I had had a cell phone camera at that time - I thought that perhaps the payday loan customers could benefit from poverty management.
Google offers 26 million hits for "wealth management" and only 10,000 for "poverty management".
Do you think there's any potential for poverty management? What might it look like? Who might offer it and who might sign up for it?
Poverty Management? Maybe it can offers (1) How to fix/Improve credit scores; (2) How to get out of poverty; (3) How to earn more income/job search services; (3) Basic Finance Education; (4) How to become bargain buyer/tips on using coupons; (5) How to apply for government assistance/food stamp/etc
Who would provide these services? I guess either (1) non-profit that truly trying to help; (2) entrepreneur who is trying to earn a small living or (3) scammer
Actually, I was thinking of Crown Financial Ministries, which provides a lot of free financial counseling as (naturally) part of their ministry. This organization was founded by Larry Burkett, who preceded Dave Ramsey by a couple decades and did not have the broader secular audience DR has. DR has a network of "endorsed local providers" who provide financial products and services (insurance, annuities, tax prep, etc) for a fee.
like dieting unless you are prepared to committ and my feeling is you are not then it would be a waste of their time and yours. you would just sling your list of excuses at them like you do us.
instead of spending so much time trying to lower the water , you need to concentrate on raising the briidge , but you have not shown us one step in that direction. everything you post is about dumbing something down or lowering standards .

Have you gone through the Crown Ministries program? It was $75 and 12 weeks long when I took it several years ago. I highly recommend it. It's an intensive program, lots of homework, but it truly changed how I looked at my finances. I've done Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace as well and we hired one of his ELP's for our investments.
I guess Poverty Management could be a company that takes control of their clients' income (for a percentage) and pays their bills, giving them a specified amount for food, then counsels them on how to make more money to get to their next financial goal.
the government handles poverty management with a variety of programs like welfare, snap, section 8, medicaid, social security, etc. if you cant take care of yourself, the government will do it for you.
