Trying on a jacket I just got from online shopping I found a ticket stub from a movie house not in my state. So obviously this jacket is a return and has been worn. I don't usually wear 2nd hand clothes and somehow feel "cheated" even though , so far, it looks OK.
I've sent clothes back but only after just trying it on.
On one level I feel silly even thinking of returning it if it fits and seems OK but on another level I think of it as used. Am I over reacting?

The rule of thumb I follow is, if I still has 90%+ of its life remaining, it's new. Considering the cost of getting back to where you bought it and your own time, it is probably not worth bothering.
I would contact the company and state your displeasure at receiving a used jacket. I can see keeping it, but think a small refund is in order. I'm sure the company didn't have a clue that the previous buyer wore it, then returned though. Just like buying from a store, we have no clue if it was a used return as long as it doesn't stink or show signs of being washed. I personally would have no problem keeping it if I loved it, but I love vintage clothing.
I would at the very least write to the company that sold it to you and let them know; include a picture of the ticket stub. Let them know you are disappointed.
But if the jacket is washable and has no stains or other signs of wear, I'd wash it up and keep it.

Did you get it at Nordstroms? They have a crazy liberal return policy, and they're the worst at just re-selling those items when they get returned. Mind you, I love the store and still shop there. But I look very carefully at what I'm buying and if it doesn't seem in perfectly new condition I won't keep it. In your place, I would ask for a new one.

I'd definitely call the company, just to let them know the previous customer had worn it. That way, if they can track returns, they can put that customer on their "DITCH" list. That's what we call it at our company. We're always on alert to scammers and abusers. I'd definitely give you some sort of reward/discount/freebie for letting us know. Especially if you're polite and say you're willing to keep it.
I agree with KaraG. I've heard too many people come right out and brag about wearing something and even going so far as to tucking in tags and the like, then returning.
