Oh yeah, I came from Flint, MI and to be honest MOST black men in my situation don't turn out to do anything in life. I found "faith" and pulled myself up by my own bootstraps literally .
It's why I'm honestly more Conservative than guys like you and MathJak when it comes to passive investing, which makes me hate Stocks more than most people lol.

Negative NW....prob somewhere around -$27k (student & car loans) - working on this! At this time last year, salary was $10k less, and NW was around -$34k.
ETA: I guess if the value of my car is considered an asset, the it's really more like -$14k....

Yes, you should count the value of the car, but the tricky part is do you count the trade value or the resell value? I count the resell value which is what I estimate I can go out and resell the car for. Some people might only count the trade-in value, but I think the resale value is what should be counted.
RE or maybe they own some business portfolios. My net worth is mainly being pumped up through business portfolios that I own that pay out a monthly recurring/residual income.
