there can be so many reasons for a low score ranging from no fault of your own to the fact you are not responsible with money or just make poor decisions in life that lead up to financial issues.

the reasoning is if you can't handle your own money what are you going to do with the company's resources ?

plus there is an element of distrust carried over from the insurance industry study's.

why should any employer bother to waste time playing detective when they simply can just move on to the next applicant .

Sounds like today there is a huge credit/employment underclass that no longer has a good reason to play by the rules, as they have little more to lose; i.e. they should game systems at every opportunity. Which if enough people did so could lead to further and faster breakdowns.

What does a 15-year-old illness and loss of income have to do with handling one's money today?

You'd have to proactive enough to put a resume together, fill out job applications and work to get an interview. You may not have to worry about a credit check

Employer's don't care to even know why you can't pay your bills. Could be one bad choice after another in life .

Could be your inability to be responsible, no one knows but you what the real reason is. It isn't the employers responsibility to sort through the mess.

??? ??? ???

With my dead-end job history, my resume is worthless.

Which makes my education further complicate my issues. Somehow including my education on a resume seems to add no value to it.

The bills I couldn't pay were 15 years ago when I was stuck in a hospital room for months and not earning a dime. What does that have to do with my ability to pay bills today?

Do employers care whether anyone else paid their bills 15 years ago?

I'm unemployable and self-employment is precisely the RIGHT decision.
