I went to Lunar festival yesterday and I made a wish at the wishing tree. Then I saw another wishing area and had fun with it also. Showed it to my sister and she said to me "everything about you is about money." Of course all my wishes are about money lol. I said to her back "ok don't complain when you're broke or come asking me for money."

Not just my sister, but few people I know said that money isn't everything or I just need enough to be happy but then they complain about being broke all the time.

I know money isn't everything but it help make the situation better when you can pay for it. If wasn't for me who know how to save and find incomes in other places, I don't think my family would live in a home they are living in now.

If money isn't everything to them then why do they even bother working?!

Just smile and agree with them: "Money isn't everything. It's the only thing."

Maybe you need to expand your circle of acquaintance to include people who recognize the value of money and appreciate the peace of mind that comes with financial security.

Exactly. The best financial advice my Dad gave me was that the value of money is in the choices it gives you and the freedom those choices provide.

I’ve been told by loved ones that I am, “saving all my money away.”

Lol

There is a balance. I probably am a bit unbalanced on the side of saving more than I need to.

But saving and being frugal on most things, like other have said, I have the freedom and choice others don’t. My choice to save paid off (in a compounding interest of sorts) for other choices.

There's a certain truth to the saying, "Life is like a sh*t sandwich. The more bread you have, the less sh*t you have to eat." That's about 99% of what money means to me - insulation from a lot of BS.

I never get any financial advice from my parents, they basically told us to go out and make a lot of money

If your options are to pay the rent on time or to save, and you pay the rent on time in order to keep a roof over your head, did you "choose" not to save?

why is every discussion about your rent or someones rent ? this is about what money means to you , do we really need to turn it in to yet another discussion about how your income is to low to deal with your rent

It's usually the live and let live type, who claim money isn't important, who are broke, living paycheck to paycheck, wondering why they can't get ahead and wondering why they have limited choices in life.
