We can hide it on her person too and not render nor disclose it but prefer not to do so.
I hardly think putting a check in a thinking of you card, or any greeting card, is concealment.

Forgive me: unless you cancel that check in your own name with your bank they will try to get the money somehow perhaps developing a more elaborate more sophisticated scheme/storyline

So, you sent her a check but cleverly in your name.
Now the options they have
- whine that it has to be in her name - but graciously agreed that $6K-$7k would be enough - how good of them!
They gave you a 50% scam discount! Very good people!

- another option to figure out the guy with the same name? - or fake passport? or bribe a bank officer to cash your check? Or trade it inexpensively - better than nothing - to a more sophisticated criminal who just could access your account electronically ?

- get you there and get the money from you - but it won’t work if the scammer isn’t in China - that is more complicated for them unless they find someone in China - even scamming that person - they do it all the time like in video up thread

Cancel that check and investigate your romance bait.

P.S.Doubt that there is a girl in China - but even if she is real and looking to marry for green card - you are helping to commit a felony - federal immigration fraud in this case as she isn’t entitled to her tourist visa if she comes to see you for a long term prospect - K visa would be the correct application

5 years in prison and $250K fine.
Lose - lose

Why do I care? It insults me that the Americans are often thought as ignorant of the way things work and gullible; hungry for romance and true love or lust, etc; easy to part them with their money …

P ***** me off and makes me feel offended ..

I cannot find any evidence that a Covid test is required to leave China.

The $10,000 limit is only a problem if the money is not declared. Fill out the proper forms for customs and they will wave it right through. No one cares if you move money around. They only care if you aren't paying the taxes or if you are moving drug money out of the country.

Just declare, yes I am carrying $$ whatever of my own and also a $13K bank check that I am hand delivering to johnhw.

Yes, they do count checks against the total, but they don't care how much money you carry as long as it is declared.

You could have it shipped Fedex signature required.

Return the bank draft to the issuing bank and do a wire transfer instead?

As for entering the USA, if the check is declared, it's passes through. Only if they find it and the person didn't declare it does things go wacky. As a precaution, she has to declare it upon arrival. She must be the one that includes it on her declaration form.

So are you thinking she won't be able to travel to the US at all and just bring the check with her?
