Have no doubts!

Of course it would get lost by FedEx, DHL, etc- it happens all the time, especially if that check is held hostage or even exists

It is a regular unavoidable occurrence in international “romance”

I’m giving her that option or mailing it. She’s nervous about having everything that’s expected as it has changed several times on us so she has delayed 2 weeks from her holiday schedule.

It’s her first long trip and the paper declaration is complicated to her. I’ve filled out all I can and sent it to her but she has more to do on top of being a nanny and live in help and really does get a day it set time off.

So giving her options.

The check she has is a bank check payable only to me so showing it did nothing as she has to have funds she can access herself. So yes I sent her money some for her bank account and some to carry as cash to show her capacity. She will show both the bank statement and cash.

This matter should not have arisen as I sent the money so I had access to cash in Hong Kong. She converted it to the bank check only I can access but I’m in USA and check is in Hong Kong. I sent it as contingency knowing needs we could not anticipate might arise as they have.

When China immigration asked to see evidence if her financial capacity at the airport, they also asked if she had Covid test results too. She did not as ut was not a requirement we were aware existed. Additionally when she asked the China immigration guy why the unknown requirement he said us immigration will send her back unless she has it to show there. We already had the USEmbassy verify we had the cash needed in her bank account as a condition of giving her a visa, we were advised by the immigration org we hired to help us, thst once embassy confirmed balance and issued visa we could wire the money back to my account. I didn’t want to do that so I had cash to use for new needs that might arise and did arise. If we had left the cash in her bank account noy convert it to bank chech, we would not have delayed as a wire takes 4 to 5 days to be cash in her hand.ce

I will send her back with a credit card on my Costco citi accout as I can lock thst card, set a limit on it etc to have cash access in Hong Kong. Many establishments there do not accept credit cards but a few do. So I want cash in bank and a credit card there I can control.

Why not pay to have a wire transfer sent? So much easier than the navigational issues of physical payment

There should be a process for returning the check to the issuing bank.

A notarized or letter certified by a U.S. lawyer won’t do the trick either. Chinese rules set up for Chinese not foreigners

A stop payment can be placed on the check and a wire transfer issued to replace the delivery of said funds. You are making this more difficult than it needs to be

What are you trying to hide and why do you think you have to hide it?
