A Credit Union has done my banking for 50+ yrs (Currently paying 6% on checking (balances up to $25,000)) Free everything, good service, good security, never a mistake (yet), easy transfers; (to my Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, my other brokerages, and (4) commercial banks (which include Comerica, unfortunately they bought out all my local banks for my accts and LLC's in TX).
I'd find a bank with branches nearby. Of the banks I see around me, they've all been closing branches except one. Chase is opening branches all over the place for some reason. I have a couple friends who bank with them with not complaints.
I had a mortgage and currently have a few credit cards with them and their customer service has always been good.
I mainly bank with capital one and typically don't have issues. I recently deposited a very large check and they held it for a week before making the funds available to me plus they restricted my accounts. Has to wait an hour to talk to someone.
I'm also a member ofa credit Union. While the service is good, the web and app experience leaves a lot to be desired. Their credit card rewards aren't very good either.
I only want a small, local bank. I want the person at the desk in the lobby to have autonomy to fix my issue, make me a loan, or buy the Girl Scout cookies. Even they, still have ATM cards and online banking.
I'm just curious why the title to this thread was censored.
I think OP misspelled Account and it partially came out a dirty word.
But I'm in the process of switching from Frost Bank and only using my Fidelity account to bank.
