Its very obvious that the way the ad is structured , it appeals to those folks who live on credit , depend on credit cards , can't function with out credit cards ( except as a dolt, unhip dunce )...so , keep em comming...the downfall of America...TO MUCH CREDIT.....to little income.
The best part is, "freecreditreport.com" isn't free. To get a free credit report, you have to go to annualcreditreport.com.

Like most stuff advertised on TV, it's meant for idiots. If you manage your finances right, a good credit score will follow almost automatically. And you won't be so desperate for 'credit' in any case.

Credit cards are a convenience for me. I use them all the time, and pay off the balance every month. But if they were taken away, I would survive with minimal adjustments. The idea that you 'need' a credit card for anything other than convenience is an unhealthy one.

Good post! I completely agree with you. I'd rather have a FICO score of "Zero", no credit cards, no car loans, no student loans, a cash emergency fund, and pay for everything with cash than an 800 score, a bunch of credit cards with banks that are glorified loan-sharks, a car loan, student loan and thus a "good" FICO score. The only time a FICO has any real relevance is when getting a home loan and, as mentioned earlier, you only need to go to a bank that does manual underwriting or somewhere like the FHA. They don't need a FICO score.
