My sister had one years ago when she was like 5. It was all black. One night my sister didn't close the cage and it got out. We found it in the middle of the dining room, it was decapitated by our cat. We didn't get any more of those.

i had a pair of white mice when i was about 13-14 or so ..... our cat figured out how to get into their aquarium several times.....even with the top weighted down.... somehow, always managed to rescue the poor little things before they were done for..... they had a litter of babies and my mom made me take the whole lot back to the pet store.......

In my 20's I bought a male and female mouse (not a good idea!). In no time at all she had 21 babies. Literally with 24 hours of giving birth I caught the male mating with her again (men!). Three weeks later when the first baby mice had just left the next she had 17 more babies (actually 19, 2 died). I sold all the mice and babies to a pet store after that and that was the end of having mice as pets lol.

They are adorable! I've never had mice for pets but in the past have had gerbils and rats.

Probably not a good idea to get one if there is a cat around the house.

And, I hope you don't have any friends that have snakes because your mice might suddenly disappear
