We are moving from CA to PA. Husband needs to fly out of Newark for work (Pilot). We currently are at catholic schools (7th and 5th). I do not understand the difference between private versus Diocese High Schools? In our area, all HS are private catholic (Jesuit, Holy Cross, Marinist) and the prices are all about the same (take or give). It seems that the only HS in Bucks county are the diocese ones-- is there a big difference? I have both a boy and girl, so we need a co-ed one (ideally). Which is better-- Wood or Conway-Eagan. I was concerned to read that Conway almost closed a few years ago. Is that still a risk?

Thanks

As someone who went through public schools I can't speak to the threat of school closings or prices, but I will say that Bucks Co has some pretty good Catholic HS. My brother in law went to Wood and loved it there. Still has a relationship with some faculty. Still stays in touch with many of his classmates. My brother went to La Salle College High School (not part of the diocese) and had an amazing experience there. He was never a stellar student but really found his niche there and is now pursuing his PhD, something he probably would not have been able to accomplish in public school. Granted, La Salle is in Montco but it did have a bus that my brother took before he could drive. Holy Ghost Prep is another great private Catholic school with a similar reputation to La Salle.

Hope this helps!

Conwell Egan is a good choice for co-ed, but I would send the girl to Villa Joseph Marie and the boy to Holy Ghost Prep. Both are AMAZING catholic schools.
