Hi guys!

So I am ready to hop on this healthier lifestyle route. I decided running would be an awesome way to start it.

Do you have any recommendations of good spots in downtown area (center city, university city, like the area where theres a lot of people) that are suitable for running?

And also, does a lot of people run in center city? I don't want to look like weirdo running by myself if this is not a common practice there. lol

I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

You can try running in Rittenhouse Squate park. Best place to run is along the Schuylkill/boathouse row.

I see people run through chestnut and walnut all the time. It's pretty crowded though with a lot of stopping. I'd recommend the schuylkill or the parkway.

If you really want to get fit though I recommend martial arts

Schuylkill River trail. It's fairly crowded, especially once you reach the section that's parallel to Kelly Drive, though not usually to the point that your run will materially suffer.

I sometimes like taking the bridge over to Jersey and running along the namesake river at Cooper River Park, which is also very nice, but much less crowded. That doesn't answer your question though.

Hi! Do you have the exact address of where my starting point if I take the Jersey bridge?

I live in Essington and I dont mind the commute.

Thanks.

5300 North Park Drive, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08109

That's the main address of the park. It's only slightly further than the Schuylkill River Trail (and you'll generally have less traffic to contend with). There are lots of other places to leave your car (the park actually spans four municipalities--Cherry Hill, Pennsauken Township, Collingswood, and Haddon Township).

My favorite route is I take the train to suburban station run down market towards the schuylkill river trail (its a warm up because of the lights) then go north up the trail and turn right on brewery hill dr (be careful crossing kelly and girard) then take sedgley or lemon hill dr back to the river trail and end going up the art musuem. That's about a 4-5 mile route and you can do many variations of that for more or less milage.

I LOVE running on the wissahickon valley trail. It's not center city though, it runs from like chestnut hill to manyunk where it hooks up with trails down there. It's seriously beautiful and theres always a lot of other people there running/walking/biking too.

I forgot about Cooper River. I used to row in high school and we ran everyday on Kelly Drive, under the bridge to MLK and back.. But we would row a few times over at Cooper and it was nice. Def less crowded.
