Hi
I just moved here to Chester County from North Carolina. Thinking about power outage during snowstorms, how often is it in Chester County? Where is the most affected area? We have no place to go during power outage other than hotels, so is it better to get a generator just in case? And we live in an apartment, so if we get a generator, what type of generator that we can use in an apartment?

Thanks !

It's a pretty big county. If the power goes out in one town, it doesn't mean that it'll be out in the next. I don't know the area that intimately. I don't live there. My friend lives just over the border in Wayne, and power outages don't happen often in her town.

Do you have a balcony? You can't run a generator inside.

If you don't have a gas stove, you'll be better off buying a single burner backpacking stove or a Coleman stove. Vast quantities of hot liquids, and hot food, are in order when the heat is out. If you're worried about charging your cell phone, get a portable power inverter.

We had a serious ice storm last winter which caused thousands of outages in the 'burbs in freezing weather.
And, as I recall, most of those outages were in Chester Co.

'Burbs often get hit with outages in thunder storms.

Generators? I'm clueless about them.

86 percent of chester county lost power during that ice storm. Ice is far worse for power lines than snow, typically urban areas will fair better.
