Due to people's tendencies to forget all about their friends once they are married, plus my on-again-off-again boyfriend/significant other/whatever he is getting a job that keeps him out of town most of the time, I've found myself having fewer and fewer people to hang out with.

Meet up groups vary, but many I have come across typically charge $1 to each person who comes to an event. Some don't charge anything, and some do ask for a higher amount for the year.
