Truth be told, he had his best year this season. The trades he made since last offseason have been pretty good. The problem, however, is that he started trading two years too late. There could have been a great return for Cliff Lee and should have been one for Hunter Pence. It was too late for Rube to save his job, but he showed enough improvement that he'll find employment this offseason; though it may have to wait a bit to become a GM again.

Ruben will be remembered for signing all those guys to huge contracts for years and not focusing on the farm system.

Amaro's involuntary separation came later than sooner that it should have been. As he is dismissed, the Phillies' front office can make competent baseball decisions to improve the organization all around.

Upon thinking about it I actually have mixed emotions about it because he's been with the Phillies organization for most his life. And we shouldn't forget the incredible starting pitcher rotation he put together not that long ago.
