Yes, that's how you would do it.

Woodcrest to 8th and Market

One Way Fare $2.45, Round Trip Fare $4.90, Travel Time 18 min.

8th and Market to 30th Street takes about 5 minutes.

I know you can get a discount pass when using the High Speed line and changing to the El, but I'm not sure how much that would be.

How much from 8th and Market to the 30th Street and when switching trains at 8th & Market is it underground or above ground, any idea as to what it cost for the day at WoodCrest to park the car?

Is this the best work day routine to getting in and out of the city from South Jersey, my wife is considering a job on Market Street next to 30th Street Station, is the commute and that area of the city fairly safe?

SEPTA would be $2.00, but as I said you can get a transfer, which would cost less. The entrance to the EL is very close when you exit the Hi Speed Line at 30th Street. Just follow the signs. It's underground from 8th to 30th Street.

Did you mean to say when you exit the High Speed Line to get on the El at 8th and Market you have to go below ground? and I assume the High Speed Line is above ground all the way from New Jersey to 8th and Market. Is that correct?

You have been very helpful.

Thanks

No, the speed line is underground in Philly.

Total cost per day is $7.00: $4.90 for the round-trip fare on the PATCO High Speedline and $2.10 for the round trip fare on SEPTA'S Market-Frankford El.

PATCO is above ground most of the way in NJ, goes underground through Camden, goes above ground over the bridge into Philly and once over the bridge, goes back underground and is underground the entire time in Philly.

It's an easy transfer. As soon as you get off PATCO at 8th and Market, it's just a few steps to get onto the El. They're right next to each other. Feel free to ask me if you have further questions...I do this commute every day.

P.S. Be sure to purchase the SEPTA tickets at the PATCO station (the same machine you buy your PATCO tickets from sells the SEPTA tranfers). It's a substantial discount over what you pay for it in Philly. I think in Philly it costs $2.00 each way)

The area near 30th Street Station west of the Schuylkill River is safe. That's very close to where WXPN's studios are located and it is just down Market Street from the Drexel University campus.

You would take 3 Trains and a Light Rail. Comes to about 20-25$ one way. Probably only 1.30hrs.
