I will certainly encourage her to upgrade her training & credentials.

We're all entitled to our own opinions. Having been a recent Bronx resident & a native Philly-ite, I'm sticking to mine. I'm open to considering others' -with respect- as I demand they do with mine.
Yes you did write that, my response to that was not correct in the way I wrote it. What I was implying is that your sister's pay rate is not in-line with a LPN's pay rate and level of training. So the field she's in may be "home health" care in the medical profession, but the required level of education and what's in entailed in day to day employment is what separates the pay rates between an actual nurse (R,N. or LPN) and CNA's and Home Care Aides.

That's why I think the OP will be able to afford to live in an $800 per month studio in a fairly decent neighborhood while working part time.., if she's an LPN.

I've lived in New York at one time (Harlem) and spend more than enough time up in Bronx, as my lady is born and raised in "Da" Brawnx. 168th & Morris. She does not see Philadelphia as comparable, and neither do I. Now North Philly? Yeah., the first time she visited she said it reminded her (in part) of BX. In it's entirety (NP) to include Fishtown, Kensington, Tacony, Fairmount, Francisville, Spring Garden, Olney, East Oak Lane, Lower Northeast (Oxford Circle/Mayfair, part of Rhawnhurst) as being most similar to the BX. I see it the same.
