Hey there,

Out of my curiosity, I wanna to know how is Philadelphia doing so far? I mean murders and everything. Is it getting much worse up there?

Seems like a fair question.

2000 - 319
2001 - 309
2002 - 288
2003 - 348
2004 - 330
2005 - 377
2006 - 406
2007 - 392
2008 - 331

Data from Pennsylvania Universal Crime Reporting System.

Is Philly's murder rate really back underneath 1 victim per day? It looks that way now, but there might be lags in getting everything reported and loaded into the system. For example, the 2009 data seems so unreliably low, it almost has to still be rolling in.
