I live in Wilmington, Delaware and have two young children in private school here. We are thinking of moving to the Unionville-Chadds Ford school district. But I've seen some great properties in the Kennett Consolidated school district too. Does anyone have a feeling about the comparative quality of the two districts? Also, do you know if it's possible to live in one district and have your kids go to schools in the other?
Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

Unionville-Chadds Ford has a reputation as an excellent school district...don't know much about Kennett Consolidated.

As far as I know, you generally can't live in one district, and attend another.

I go to Unionville High School, and i would recommend it against Kennett. Many kids transfer from there just to go to Unionville. Also, Unionville ranks one of the highest in the state in SAT and other standardized test scores, while Kennett does not. You cannot go to a different school than the ones in your district, but there are very nice properties in Unionville, although probably more expensive. My parents struggled with a similar problem, but chose Unionville over Kennett.

Thank you Drumstikka - it's nice to hear from someone who goes to school at Unionville High.
