Children who go on your nerves so badly that you HAVE to learn to be more patient or you'll freak out and having the pressure to have to achieve more at work to earn more $$$ - that kinda proves the opposite of happiness.

Every parent of children or teenagers I know is always stressed out, worry more about money, who picks them up where and what time, kids health, they envy my life, can't go anywhere, are always worried about something related to having kids, hate their minivan and overall seem to be unhappy.

But I am pretty sure that grandparents are more happy than people without grandchildren. Because there is no more responsibility, just the joy of short visits.

They may envy you, but be clear that's not to be generalized across the board for parents. We're all different. I was professionally successful, a good earner, and well educated before my daughter came along. None of it holds a candle to the sheer joy and value she brings to my life. She is the coolest, most pure being I've ever known.

Just depends on the people and on the children. Some people are not meant to have children (they don't have the necessary ingredients in their nature to tolerate them very well). Others are well equipped to handle them and be happy about it.
