These arson fires burned several buildings and cars.

It's mind-boggling how these fires were started by children who were out and about at 4 in the morning. Why weren't they home in bed and why weren't their parents concerned?

These children obviously need counseling and rehabilitation, and their parents should be jailed for neglect.

Because many parents are nothing more than sperm donors and egg suppliers who spew out rugrats for the main purpose of getting extra tax breaks, and/or more government benefits courtesy of the taxpayers!

I agree that the parents should be punished as well because they are legally responsible for their kids until they reached the ripe age of 18. However, simply tapping the kids' hands and giving them counseling or rehab accomplishes nothing. They need to be held accountable for their actions ... and I say that the punishment should always fit the crime regardless of age.

Me personally, I would love to round up all who were involved, throw them in a wood shed and light them on fire. However, since all the bleeding hearts would be in an uproar over such vigilante justice, the more "politically correct" thing to do with these a**holes is put them in Sheriff Joe's Tent City for the rest of the summer. I have no use for kids who have nothing better to do than destroy property ... nor do I have any use for the gutter trash parents who let them run wild at all times of the night. Most of all, those who sympathize with such scum of the earth are purely trash themselves as far as I'm concerned!

you have to wonder how it even got to this point with these "families"....what was happening five, ten years ago with them?.....the parents really, really need to account for this one, but this type of "parenting" is common all over....very sad for all concerned......

There is a lady on craigslist asking for people to donate to the families. She is saying they need everything imaginable. Maybe the kids and their neglectful parents should have some sort of restitution.

I subscribe to the idea of making those involved pay resitution, the children and the parents should all chip in.

Rehabilitation and counseling usually involves more than a tap on the wrist, I think it is more effective than sending them to prison. They are at very impressionable ages and prison life will harden them even more.

Tapping their financial resources can be the best punishment of all. Get them where it hurts the most, in their wallets.

The weather is too good here at night, lol, a lot of kids hang out at night with nothing to do but cause trouble. We need 10 ft of snow. ha ha
If the parents are already broke I doubt they will be paying a thing, so sad but true. I would never let my teenagers hang out like that, no doubt they aren't preforming in school either with that kind of schedule. Useless teenagers just turn into useless adults. Too bad. The parents are probably addicted to pain meds or getting drunk. No time to watch their useless kids. The great American problem, it's sad.

It is very true that the parents most likely play the biggest role in their behavior so it is purely nuture which means maybe they can be turned around. It is the kids where it is in their nature to be dangerous and destructive scare me. Like, Jeffery Dahmer...no helping that. Anyways, I am getting at that I hope they feel remorse! I bet they won't go to jail though, they will get fines and community service.

Absolutely, VN . . . I could not agree more.

These pitiful excuses for parents need to be held fully accountable with full restitution and slammer time. That may require a JOB and giving up Cigarettes, Drugs and Booze but . . . TOUGH.

Once our leaders stop coddling these "sperm / egg donors" and make them realize their kids are their responsibility, much of the vandalism, including this type as well as graffiti will come to a screeching halt.

Nicely written.

They should hold the children accountable too, make them help clean up the extensive damage they caused.
