This is like a summer monsoon in intensity...well minus the winds but the rain amount is right up there.

I love it!

Please send that heavy rain to the rest of the Valley! So far this storm has been a dud. Only light amounts have fallen where I live, and the official reporting station at Sky Harbor has recorded less than two tenths of an inch thus far tonight. Initially, they were predicting between a half inch and an inch ... then they kept decreasing the predicted amounts. Now, the latest forecast is for new rainfall amounts less than a tenth of an inch. I swear the NWS is completely useless when it comes to precipitation forecasts around here!

Its still coming down lightly here but the major cell has passed...it dropped 0.40" in about 15 minutes. Total rainfall for my backyard out of today's rain is 0.71". Not too bad, right?

...and where are you located? Looking at the map the rest of the Valley should be getting at least something...

It sounded like a freight train outside for a while with all that thunder and heavy rain.

Well, this storm spawned a tornado in Eastern CA on it's way here so if you hear a train I'd be careful. lol
It's seems unlikely from my area but you never know as of late.
Enjoying the moisture for sure, I have a cold and it feels good on the old nose.

That storm was STRONG! All my outside decorations are blown over and the little water things that go around the trees are overflowing with water. I kept hearing a pounding on the ground last night at about 12:10 too. I thought it was hail but never did go outside to check.
Actually is there anybody on this forum from Northwestern Az? Besides Kdog? I'd like to hear how they fared the storm.

Edit. Nevermind

We got hit hard in Surprise. Knocked over Christmas decorations and minor flooding in the street and yard.
