I'm in my late 20s and have lived in various apartment complexes in the Tempe area. My problem is that I am not "settled down" with a family, but I do not have a college party lifestyle either. I have a professional job Monday through Friday and am a night owl. I am trying to find a rental that is in an area that has people who are still active but that aren't all college kids. I work hard and I play hard. I still have student loans and work for a nonprofit so I don't have a huge budget either. Any suggestions on a good complex or area would be appreciated.

The area around Elliot and Grove parkway is OK. Also just over the Tempe border in West Chandler by Chandler Fashion Center or on Ray Road. The apartments around Baseline Road and North all the way to South Scottsdale are packed with students.

You need to consider where you work. i can think of several areas that might work well for you including downtown Scottsdale or just north of it, the Dreamy Draw area in Phoenix, the Biltmore area in Phoenix, mid-town/near north in Phoenix, Keirland in Scottsdale, Westgate area in Glendale, just name a few.

All have lots of activity, shopping, dining, etc.

Also consider renting a private condo vs an apartment. Cost about the same and clientèle will be better screened.
