It'll be a nice cool down, but we are going to pay dearly for it. Winds and blowing dust are going to be ferocious tomorrow. Anybody traveling this way - expect I40 to close west of Winslow!

What would make you think that? It's not even summer yet, and these little cool breaks in May are not unusual. It will heat right back up again, maybe not to the unseasonable level we've seen at times already.

That's still warmer (by 15 or so degrees) than the middle of summer where I'm from. lol. (Oregon coast)
I'll take the sunshine in whatever form I can get it. hehe.

You mean it's not a 115 everyday in May?

The sarcasm in the original post raises a good point. If there are two hot days in the winter, the conspiracy theorists come out. When there are two cool day in the summer, everyone dismisses it. It proves that perception of weather comes down to emotion and not science. The fact of the matter is there are no trends. The intensity of the heat in the summer weather varies from season to season and the statistics support that but I understand the drama and the fun of creating science fiction related to this. After all, we have the Avengers, Prometheus, Spiderman and Batman playing this summer...tis the season to be imaginative
