I have read a couple of anecdotal reports that in certain areas of the country where illegal aliens are living that a number of them appear to be moving on to someplace else. One story that I saw said that in parts of southern California, some of the schools have up to a third less students now than they did last school year. Has anyone seen this happening in Phoenix at all? If so, what effect is it having on the real estate market and the rental market?

That wonderful news has been reported a number of times recently, micrguy.

One article I read last week reported a mass "self-deportation" into Canada due to the latest laws clamping down on companies hiring illegals as well as restricting those ridiculous benefits.

This proves many of our IDIOT leaders totally wrong because if the incentives and freebies disappear . . . so will the ILLEGALS.

I also read that about Mesa schools. However, they're not leaving my area yet. Another drop house with 54 illegals and coyotes arrested not 3 miles from my house. I would be shocked if there WASN'T at least 1 or 2 drop houses in my immediate neighborhood.

I'll be interested to see what transpires after Jan. 1st, for those that have not decided to move on. My guess is that the illegal hiring will continue for the most part, and the ID theft business will get a spike. So be sure to shred all your personal docs, junk-mail credit or loan applications, etc.

I can foresee a spike in property thefts as well, as illegal workers try to buy time before making their next moves.

I really do feel for those workers, but this should not be the US's problem. When I see them on the news being walked away from a drop house, I think: "How bad is Mexico that becoming smuggled, abused human cattle is a better alternative?".
